about

These are some of my earliest recordings from around 1983 to 1986.
I did some kind of multitrack with a tapedeck and a cassette recorder. They were running in slightly different speed, so there was always a problem with tuning, and of course with noise...
Track 1 was made around '83, with the Universum organ and my first crappy synth, the Yamaha CS-01. And with the beat of a borrowed Boss DR 110 drumbox.
For track 2 I got my first effect pedal, a Phaser. Here you also hear my first drummachine, the Roland TR 606.
In track 3 you hear my first polysynthy, the Roland Juno 6.
Track 4 welcomes the Korg MS 10.
Now, in around 1984/85 you hear also a Roland SH 101 (track 5) and a reverb.
The last 4 tracks were made in 1986 I guess, with the arrival of one of my favourite synties, the Korg Polysix. And a Roland DC 30 delay, which you find back in my studio nowerdays!
Music composed by Sula Bassana/Dave Schmidt and recorded in my Kinderzimmer.
All tracks taken from these old tapes (in 2004 or so) with the usual cassette sound. :-)
